| There were many people that watched Brett Donowho grow up in Denison, and most
of them would probably say that they knew he was going to make it in the
entertainment world.
It’s hard to believe that anyone can say they knew he was going to be a success
in so many areas in movies and television.
Donowho is not a stranger to the press who covered all of his accomplishments
over the years in Denison while in middle school and high school as an actor.
Donowho said it would be nice to let all of his friends and family know that the
small-town boy is doing now.
Donowho graduated from Denison High School in 1990, and after spending a brief
time at Texas Christian University, he found his footing in the entertainment
industry as a performer, yet found his distinction as a managing executive. He
has successfully pursued various roles such as actor, artist, agent, talent
manager and film producer/director/executive producer.
Donowho is the son of Warren and Karen Donowho of Denison and Kay Donowho of
Dallas. His grandmothers are Verna Donowho, Mary Doyle and Rita McNellis, all of
Denison.
During his time as an agent and chief operations officer for The Kaplan-Stahler-Gumer
Agency, Donowho engaged in the day-to-day activity and placement of the
company’s A-List writers, directors and actors. He worked with the team
responsible for shows such as “Frasier”, Murphy Brown” and “Seinfeld”. He was
also audience coordinator for “The Montel Williams Show” to serving as a
producing partner to some Hollywood’s A list actors.
In 2006, Donowho completed two productions including “Music Within” as producer
and second unit director, with an all-star cast that includes Ron Livingston,
Melissa George, Michael Sheen, Yul Vazquez, Rebecca DeMornay and Hector
Eliczondo. His second complete project is “The Box” which he produced and
co-starred with the likes of Yul Vazquez, AJ Buckley, James Madio, Gabrielle
Union, Mia Maestro and Giancarlo Esposito.
“Music Within” will be screened the 1st Annual AFI Dallas International Film
Festival.
It will be a red carpet event at the Majestic Theater in downtown Dallas with
1,700 attending.
“It is a great honor to be selected to open the Festival and is the premiere
position that one can be honored with. Lauren Bacall will be receiving an award
during this gala presented to her by Sydney Pollock as well. Additionally,
“Music Within” was voted Best of Fest at the Palm Springs International Film
Festival and has screened at the Santa Barbara Film Festival and several others
are scheduled,” said Donowho.
Donowho has served as consultant and/or partner in several companies, some of
which include his self-initiated venture launching the management company
Insight Entertainment Group and his co-founding of Bri Leigh Record s, a record
label owned by Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys. He also had the honor of
co-writing a technological business plan with renowned UCLA physicist, John
Evans, in order to launch his company, Plasmatics and consulted for Visages, RPS
which prevailed for a time as one of the most prestigious worldwide photographer
and syndication agencies. Donowho also has the honor to be partnered in Moving
Artists, a North American distribution company launching this year with the
release of his feature “Music Within” in Sept.
Aside from operating his personal company, Quorum Entertainment, he said he
enjoys spending quality time with his wife of 13 years and their three
daughters.
