SUBJECT: SPRING FLING ’09
On April 25th a group of DHS classmates who graduated from ‘56-’62 gathered to begin planning the Spring Fling for 2009. Tom & Adelle Christman were chosen to be the coordinators for the event. It was decided to have it again at Loy Lake Pavilion on April 18th, 2009 from 2:00pm till? Dinner will be served at 5:30pm. Horace Groff contacted Grayson County and secured that date with a $300 deposit. At that meeting we discussed and agreed to the following: Horace Groff would again fix the brisket, chicken and trimmings. Lyndon & Gay Nix would provide the sound system. Jerry Hatfield would provide the tables and chairs. The different classes will provide the potato salad, beans, bread, condiments, dessert and drinks as was done for the last Spring Fling. To counter the long lines at dinner last time, we will have two separate serving lines. This will speed up the process. We will have signs to better identify the location of the drinks as there was some confusion last time. We will again have a bucket for donations. And of course we will have sign-up tables for each class to register classmates. This time we will locate the tables back farther to allow more room to move around. We are requesting that you begin to announce the date to your classmates. We will have it on the Alumni page also. As time gets closer, we will arrange a meeting of representatives from all classes to tie together all of the details.
